The Real Reason Milk Jugs Have Dents
You may have wondered why a milk jug has a dent in it. Many people do not know what it is for, much less that it serves two different purposes. First, in case of excess gas in the milk jug, the dent can expand outward to let it out. This way, the consumer knows the milk has spoiled.
Additionally, the dent serves as a shock absorber in case the jug falls. Without the dent, the pressure from the milk jug will make it explode like a milk bomb.
