The Metal Whisperer

The square is a cornerstone of precise woodworking. But even the most reliable tools can go slightly out of whack over time. A square that’s a hair too wide or a touch too narrow throws off your entire project, leaving frustration in its wake.

For a square that’s too wide, a well-placed strike with the center punch on the outer corner can gently nudge the metal inward, bringing it back to its perfect 90 degrees. Conversely, a square that’s too narrow can be addressed by hammering the center punch on the inner corner and carefully pushing the metal outward.
