Given that more and more millennials are moving away from the age-old concept of traditional marriage, there is a silver lining here nonetheless. What this also means is that with a lower number of couples tying the knot, the number of people getting a divorce is on the decline as well.
According to professor Philip Cohen of Maryland, the rate of couples filing for official separation has dropped by an astounding 18% between 2008 and 2016. This might be because since generation X and especially millennials are pretty picky in general when they do eventually decide to get married, they stay married.
