In 1993, a “The Simpsons” episode featured Marge being arrested, charged with shoplifting and served prison time. Later, the whole of Springfield caught the Osaka Flu after some products reached the area.
The Osaka flu predicted in the episode may have been a prediction of the COVID-19 pandemic, which originated from another country in 2019 before reaching the U.S. Even more believably, there was no medication, and patients had to be given bed rest as the vaccination was being prepared.
