No One Wants to Step In
Hana moved fast, trying not to think about how strange it all was. Her footsteps echoed as she rushed past nurses frozen in place and patients peeking from behind curtains. She spotted a group of doctors huddled at a desk, their faces drawn tight with worry. She didn’t wait.
She stepped in front of them and told them what she had seen. The bear hadn’t come to hurt anyone. It had come to ask for help. The silence that followed felt heavier than before. One doctor finally spoke, quiet and cold. Help wasn’t their call anymore.
