The Bear in the Hospital Was Not the Scariest Part of the Night
Not a Threat, but a Protector
It still felt like a dream, but something began to click in Hana’s mind. The bear wasn’t looking for a fight. It was looking after something small, something fragile. Its eyes didn’t stay on her for long. They kept drifting to the tiny bundle it had carried in.
She stayed as quiet as she could, moving only with care. Her job now was to show she meant no harm. The bear let out a soft, broken sound and slowly stepped back. The tension faded. What filled the room next felt less like fear and more like permission.
