Left Behind or Waiting to Be Found?

Peter’s voice floated up, uneven and urgent. He said they were the same creatures, and maybe the bear had led them here for a reason. His words echoed against the cold stone, heavy with new understanding. Hana leaned in, watching the flashlight beam flicker across small, glowing eyes. These weren’t bear cubs.

Their shapes were strange and fragile. They looked trapped. Peter called out again, saying the injured one from the hospital might not have been alone. The others could be hurt, too. That thought settled hard in Hana’s chest. Leaving them wasn’t something she could accept.
