Where Countries Meet – Discover the World’s Most Breath-taking and Picturesque Border

The Green Line, Cyprus

The Green Line is the dividing line separating the Republic of Cyprus from the self-declared Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Established in 1974 after the Turkish invasion, it stretches across the island and serves as a buffer zone.

United Nations peacekeeping forces patrol the line while abandoned buildings and checkpoints dot it. Despite efforts to reunify the island, the Green Line remains a visible reminder of Cyprus’s ongoing political and territorial dispute.
