Maybe That’s Just How They Bond?
It may look weird from the storyteller’s perspective, but what if that’s just how they bond? Perhaps now that they are adults, getting their mom to do these things for them eludes a sense of comfort.
A scientific notion could also explain this occurrence through what we call regression. Regression happens when someone feels stressed and is motivated to return to old behaviors or habits they had as a child. Maybe being tucked in like a burrito is all they need in this case.
