World’s Shortest War

As this one turned out, some wars could be a better use of time and resources. Note that we don’t condone war of any nature. The Anglo-Zanzibar War, fought in August 1896 between the Zanzibar Sultanate and the British military, remains the shortest in history.

An unexpected leadership change in Zanzibar’s palace installed an anti-British ruler who refused to step down. He instead called for war but seemingly forgot he had a weak army. The morning combat only lasted 38 minutes.
