Why We Have Oceans

We often frequent the shores of large bodies of water like the oceans to cool off and enjoy the ambiance they provide, but how did they form? The earth’s oceans were formed millions of years ago thanks to nonstop rain.

Seemingly, water was in a gaseous state around four billion years ago until the earth cooled to below 212 degrees Fahrenheit. It condensed into the rain and poured down for many years, filling the basins that became endless oceans and bodies of water.
