Foreseeing One’s Gruesome Death
He may have been a powerful and influential American president, but that didn’t prevent Abraham Lincoln from dreaming about his gruesome death. In his dream, he asked a soldier standing on guard who was dead in the White House.
The soldier replied that an assassin had killed the president. Lincoln shared the “strangely annoying” dream with Ward Hill Lamon, a friend, on April 11, 1865. Unfortunately, four days later, on April 15, 1865, the man credited with ending slavery was assassinated.
Worrying War Consequences
The devastating effects of war can last for decades or centuries, affecting people who may not know the cause of such wars or even how they ended. World War II lasted six years, from 1939 to 1945, but its consequences are still felt today.
