Who Named Earth?
We all fit on Earth, each in our own space, but we’ve yet to find out who named it that. Other planets, including Pluto, no longer considered one, trace their names to ancient Roman or Greek gods, except Earth.
If you noticed, this planet can either have a capital or a small “e” and still be accepted, given its naming mystery. The name traces its origins to the eighth-century Anglo-Saxon word “erda,” which translates to soil or ground. Ironically, majority of the Earth is water.
