No Wannabe Mom
The Oxford Languages dictionary defines “wannabe” as “a person who tries to be like someone else or to fit in with a particular group of people.” “Wannabe” is also the title of one of the Spice Girls’ best-known songs, which is referenced in these messages.
Interestingly enough, we don’t think this mom is being a wannabe. She’s just acting genuine and having fun with her child. Mom and children don’t always have the same pop-culture references, but the music of the Spice Girls has pretty much reached all generations.
