The History of WTF
Moms misinterpreting Internet emojis and expressions: as we have seen, it is a classic! There are some very funny fails out there, but mistaking the expression WTF (which is too rude to put into words here) for “Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday” is a bit too far-fetched, even for a mom.
Interestingly enough, the expression “WTF” has been around since the ’80s, with disparate sources claiming it was first seen either in a 1985 Usenet post or in a 1983 book by Michael Malone.
