From Modest to Flashy: A Quick Look at the Houses of Some of America’s Most Famous People
Matt Damon – Pacific Palisades ($15 Million)
Matt Damon is well-known as ‘Jason Bourne’ in the “Bourne” franchise. However, he’s established himself as a remarkably skilled actor with his long list of acting credits, including “Good Will Hunting” and the 2021 release “Stillwater.” Damon came under fire for using an anti-LGBTQ+ term in 2021.
But he can weather the storm of any controversy in this 13,500-square-feet home in Pacific Palisades. The house is a mix of Spanish Colonial and Modern California architecture. And mahogany vaulted ceilings, an open atrium, and a floating staircase are just a few of the numerous features which make up its interior. He parted ways with the property for $18 million in 2021.
Jamie Lee Curtis – Los Angeles (Undisclosed)
Jamie Lee Curtis must have gotten her love for acting from her legendary show business parents. Despite her extensive portfolio, her debut in horror films earned her the nickname ‘scream queen.’ And if you’ve been following her ‘Laurie’ character in the “Halloween” movies, the 2021 release, “Halloween Kills,” should be right up your alley.

Curtis’s house in Los Angeles is the last place you’d expect a multiple award-winning actress and star of the Hollywood Walk of Fame to live in. But she’s nothing if not distinctive. The 4,108-square-feet Spanish Colonial Revival house built in the ’20s was later renovated with the help of architect Michael B. Lehrer.
Bill Murray – New York($1.65 Million)
Bill Murray is a household name in Hollywood. After making his start on “Saturday Night Live,” he starred in a series of comedy movies, including “Meatballs” and “Ghostbusters.” He also played the part of ‘Dr. Peter Venkman’ in the 2021 movie “Ghostbusters: Afterlife.”

Murray owns this lovely house in New York. The Gothic Revival home was built in 1868, spreads across 5,100-square-feet and boasts five bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a lush garden. Unfortunately, we can’t say how much the house cost when Murray purchased it. However, the new owner snapped it up for $1.65 million in 2018, according to the “New York Post.”
Kim & Kanye West – Bel Air ($17.8 Million)
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West may have been one of the world’s most famous couple once, but not since their divorce in 2021. Kardashian has risen to a well-known socialite and businesswoman. West is a business mogul and renowned rapper. So it’s fitting to call this former pair a power couple.

Still, we’re more interested in their museum-like Bel Air mansion. The stately home comes with six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a massive pool, and floor-to-ceiling windows, which offer a panoramic view of the city. Unfortunately, however, the couple sold the property to Silicon Valley entrepreneur Marina Acton for $17.8 million in 2017.

And mahogany vaulted ceilings, an open atrium, and a floating staircase are just a few of the numerous features which make up its interior. He parted ways with the property for $18 million in 2021.
Betsy Devos – Holland, Michigan ($10 Million)
Betsy Devos is what we like to call American Royalty with her family making the 2016 Forbes list of the wealthiest families in America. But her best claim to fame is her illustrious career as a government official. She served as the United States Secretary of Education under President Donald Trump’s administration. And in 2021, she resigned shortly after the attack on the Capitol building.

Devos owns a summer home in Holland, Michigan – and nothing like your typical vacation home. Overlooking Lake Macatawa and spreading across 22,000-square-feet, the three-bedroom mansion is done in all-white. Still, one would have a hard time counting all its windows.
Harvey Weinstein – New York ($10 Million)
Harvey Weinstein is the co-founder of the film distribution company “Miramax.” Although their initial productions were music-focused films, they later produced successful independent movies like “The Crying Game,” “Heavenly Creatures,” and “Flirting with Disaster.”

Weinstein was also the proud owner of this 9,000-square-feet residence in Amagansett, New York. But in the wake of a series of sexual harassment and assault allegations, he sold the home for $10 million to Taisho Holdings Inc. Although he was sentenced to 23 years in prison in 2020, 2021 saw him being extradited to Los Angeles for a subsequent trial.
Chuck Norris – Dallas ($1.2 Million)
If you grew up watching action films like “An Eye for an Eye” and “The Expendables 2,” then Chuck Norris must be a familiar face. The U.S. Air Force veteran turned professional martial artist and actor is also the founder of the United Fighting Arts Federation. In 2021, he was featured as a tank commander in the World of Tanks video game.

A successful acting career often translates to financial prosperity, so it’s no surprise that Norris could afford this four-bedroom, 7,362-square-feet ranch house in Northwood, Dallas. The home was built in 1975 but was renovated to include a ‘Total’ gym, a detached studio, and other upgrades.
Drew Scott – Los Angeles ($2.3 Million)
Drew Scott is a television personality and co-host of the tv show “Property Brothers.” And yes, his co-host is, in fact, his twin brother, Jonathan. Fans and viewers of his hit show must have high expectations for his home. And Drew doesn’t disappoint with his five-bedroom California house.

Although the house wasn’t exactly a dream come true at first look, Scott, with the help of his brother, performed a renovation, and the result is startling. The house is also the site of the podcast, “At Home With Linda & Drew Scott,” which he co-hosts alongside his wife to date.
Jonathan Scott – Las Vegas (Undisclosed)
Jonathan Scott is the second half of the duo that makes up the “Property Brothers.” He makes his home in Las Vegas, but he’s quick to state that he’s neither a gambler nor a nightclub guy. Nevertheless, anyone who’s seen Scott’s Mediterranean-inspired 5,000-square-feet home can understand why he chooses to remain in the city.

If you’re expecting a regular bachelor pad, then you’re in for a surprise. His house was designed for socializing with a massive dining room, an outdoor hot tub, and a 15-foot movie screen in direct view of the tub. In 2021, he posted a loved-up photo of himself and his girlfriend, Zoey Deschanel, in honor of their second anniversary.
