When Canada Had a Twin

Once upon a time, Canada had a fascinating twin known as Navy Island. In the 1830s, adventurous William Mackenzie and his companions captured the island and named it the “Republic of Canada.” As the rebels took control of the island, its population grew. Because the real Canada existed as well, they were “twins.”
