Texting And Walking Don’t Go Well Together

According to Hindustan Times, a study found that texting while walking increased the likelihood of accidents compared to listening to music or talking on the phone. The researchers from the University of Calgary discovered that texting is associated with more “near misses” and a failure to look both ways before crossing the road, compromising pedestrian safety.

They noted that pedestrian distraction, mainly due to smartphone use, is a recognized safety concern and must be addressed.
