Not So Ant-Astic Giant Anteaters
Anteaters have lousy hearing, no teeth, and poor vision, but they can be deadly. Scientists have reported a case where an anteater attacked and killed a hunter in Brazil, similar to a previous incident two years prior.
Although these attacks are rare, they serve as a warning to humans who encroach on their territory. The giant ones have sharp claws that they use to dig into anthills and termite mounds, and in some cases, they can fatally wound humans with their long claws.
