Auto Workshop Trips Will Never Be the Same! Mechanics Share Crazy On-the-Job Stories

Consistency Fails

With multiple units of measurement being used all around the world, it’s a practical decision to stick to the ones that are used officially. Suppose your country uses the Centigrade scale. In that case, selecting the Fahrenheit scale is odd.

This is a classic example of a misunderstanding. The car manufacturers didn’t follow a set scale. Instead, the speedometer measures speed in miles per hour, the external temperature meter is Fahrenheit, and the engine’s gauge is Celsius. No wonder the customer thought that the F stood for a full tank.
