Abraham Crijnssen is the Dutch warship that evaded detection by Japanese aircraft by camouflaging herself with jungle foliage. The ship wasn’t armed with enough defenses to withstand an attack from the Japanese.
Yet it managed to scale through and escape to Australia by staying stationary at night, giving the impression of a small island, and moving slowly once darkness fell. She finally docked in Geraldton, Australia, on March 15, 1942.
