Two Images That Show The Fall Of The Berlin Wall

Berlin’s east and west sides got united once again. The German city, previously divided into two after World War II, became one again after 28 years. From 1961 to 1989, there was a wall separating Berlin into two.

The wall stretched approximately 96 miles and included various security measures such as guard towers, barbed wire, and anti-vehicle trenches. The pieces of the wall were given to several countries, where they remain on display.
